01  The model

Three truths,
never blended.

An invoice, a tooling agreement, a factory acknowledgement and a photograph can each support a different claim, and they can disagree. A title dispute stays visible even when current custody is known.

Which physical tool

Matched on recorded markings, not on what looks similar. A set keeps its parts linked, and a partial receipt never receives the whole set.

B — TITLE

Who claims to own it

Title is a recorded claim with its documents attached: asserted, documented, disputed or unknown. The record never decides who legally owns a tool.

Who holds it, where

Recorded custody changes only when a matching receipt arrives. The date something was seen is kept apart from when it was uploaded, and an old photo doesn't make a record fresh.

02  A handover, step by step

Custody moves

Five tools.

An old spreadsheet is a starting claim, not a fresh sighting. The first goal is modest: for five sample tools, either support the record or mark it plainly Unknown. Chasing a supplier who doesn't answer doesn't make the record any more certain.
